What is recycling and why is it important? Maybe that\'s the first question kids will ask when they are faced with this topic before they bring themselves to the more detailed information related to how is recycling done. Waste is usually divided into different categories to be sorted out for the recycling phase; paper, plastic, glass and aluminum and every single type goes through a different recycling process to bring it back into a new product. How is paper recycled? Wasted paper goes through different steps in the process of recycling to come back to new paper that is clean in rolls and ready to be cut and sent back to the shops. Recycling paper is considered a simple process that starts with collecting the paper from the recycling bin and then this paper is taken to a recycling plant. Paper is not all treated in the same way, but before being recycled, the recycling plant it is sent to separates it into types and grades and it is then washed with soapy water to remove inks, plastic film, staples and glue. The paper in the next step is placed into a large holder where it is mixed with water to create \"slurry\" and to this slurry there are different materials added that eventually lead to different products being created, such as card boards, newspaper and office paper. Coming to the final part in this process is actually bringing something out of this slurry in order to send it out to the shops. The slurry is spread using very large rollers to transform it into large thin sheets before it is left to dry. The dried paper is then rolled and becomes ready to be dried and sent back to the shops. Recycling is important because it saves energy and it also opens work places for people which means that it helps in reducing unemployment. \"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle\" is the hierarchy that is famously known and which proves that recycling is truly important for the reasons we have mentioned, but it is also important for people to try and reduce their waste and reuse the materials they have, even if they will not be the ones doing so, they could give them to those who might be in need for them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Ufbm5ZkBY). Kids should get well educated about recycling and its importance and it would be a plus if they got the chance to know how things are recycled (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UuUeoyYmxI). It is important to choose the right methods and educational resources which you will consider the base for teaching your kids. We believe that games and educational videos are always helpful, but the videos should be always laid in an interesting tone and with the attracting pictures. Recycling is part of science and there are other fields within science that kids should be educated about as well. We have different educational videos on our channel that could teach kids more about hurricanes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye0wWBOKIZY), about the cycle of water (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jGvvUQnKqY), videos that teach kids about tsunamis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1mozwcqKBE), about tornadoes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWA9dpLtNrU) and there are even some information found about the planets (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTQKy19e2OQ) and those detailed information related to the hottest, the coldest, the biggest and the smallest. The everyday life of any kid out there is filled with toys and games which they always play with or else the cartoon channels which they enjoy watching, and that is exactly the reason why we consider these as the two most important to be used in creative ways in order to bring new information to the mind of the kid and give him/her the chance to know more about the surrounding world they are considered part of. Recycling is one of the most important processes done nowadays all around the world and that is why kids should know of its importance and understand how the whole process goes. If you have any questions, please send us and we will love to answer back! There are other recycling processes done with aluminum and glass which we would bring you later through other videos, just keep this excitement on :-)!
